Description

French Farm located at the lower end of Lower Street near the Potato Road and settled by Daniel French from Taunton, Massachusetts in 1780. There were three log cabins located on the site before the present buildings were erected in 1827. Farming operations were carried on for several generations. Outbuildings once included a smokehouse, shingle sawmill, icehouse and brickyard. The barn featured a wooden silo for storage of corn.
